6 Assessments To Support What You Are Doing In The Playroom

Jan 13, 2023

As promised in the last episode, I’m going to go over 6 assessments that can support your work in the playroom. I frequently hear from play therapists that they don’t feel supported by peers or employers, or that play therapy is treated as an inferior modality to the more traditional models. Using assessments is one way that you can “prove” the efficacy of your work in your playroom with your clients, and begin to persuade your peers and our field that play therapy should be regarded on equal footing.

“Dr. Brenna Hicks does an excellent job of sketching the problem, but the book shines brightest when Dr. Hicks offers a suite of practical, evidence-based strategies for coping with screen overuse in children. A valuable book that deserves to be read by parents everywhere.”
